WE LEAVE TOMORROW!!!

I cannot believe it is finally here. We had to have our bags ready to go at the trailers this morning at 10 am. Packing my bag may have been the most challenging things I have had to do yet. Fitting everything I think I will need for 70 days plus my bike gear into my duffel bag was extremely frustrating. I cannot count the number of times I tried to pack it before I called my mom crying. Her first suggestion worked, all she said was "try putting your shoes on the bottom of your bag instead of the top." Of course it worked and everything fit on the first try. I still do not know how moms have so much wisdom.

I just finished the last touches on preparing my bike for the trip. I bought turquoise bar tape earlier this week and put it on this afternoon. My bike will now stand out among the royal blue bar tape most of the team has from when we received our bikes.

We are meeting tomorrow morning at the tower where there are going to be many people to send us off. I have frequently been looking back on this semester and still do not know where the time has gone. We are really leaving tomorrow, all of our preparations are finally paying off. I keep telling myself we are leaving tomorrow but it doesn't quite seem real yet.
